About

I’m an English artist living and working in the High Weald of East Sussex. I’ve made art all my life and in the 80s went through 6 years of art school, focused on sculpture, as I am deeply moved by form and structure.

I trained as an art teacher and worked, both privately and in a range of adult education institutions, teaching both certified and uncertified courses, mainly in sculpture and ceramics, over a 20 year period.

I then became a counsellor and a Certified Facilitator of the Work of Byron Katie and began a practice working with people over the last 20 years to help them to unravel their belief structures through deep questioning. But throughout I have never stopped making art and have occasionally shown some of it.

These days I find I’m often drawn to exploring atmospheres and absences in my work. Internal states. Memories of places, spaces and how it was back when I was a child. I’m fascinated by the relationship between presence and absence, and disjuncture and disruption – the chaos of our times and the nature of Chaos to create through destruction.

In my work I now search for visual language to express these feelings.

This website is new, and still under construction (obviously!) and will gradually expand to show more of my work, both past and present…
